Nashville Flooded May 05-2 2010
Nashville Tn and the rest of Middle Tennessee was soaked this past weekend by terrible series of Thunderstorms. Some areas got 14 to 16 inches of rain More than doubling the record for the most rainfall for any 2 consecutive Days. People were stranded in their cars, homes ,places of business,and hotels. The Cumberland River was to Crest Tuesday morning May 4 around 2:am . The downtown area of Nashville including LP Field were under water. Opyland Hotel had to be evacuated due to 10 feet of water in the building. Interstate 24 and interstate 40 were both submerged in water. At the time of this posting 18 people are known dead in Tn and Mississippi from these devastating Storms. The Red Cross set up shelters across the mid-state to help displaced people.The pictures below were taken in Smyrna Tn just south of Nashville about 20 miles.
