Stewart creek in Smyrna Tn has been the best place lately that I have found for catching largemouth bass. The shad have moved into the creek and the bass have followed them . The smaller bass are busting the top chasing the shad, the larger bass are staying closer to the bottom feeding on the injured shad. A topwater like a Heddon Torpedo or a Rapala Floating Minnow work well for the top feeders, while a spinnerbait slow rolled across the bottom picks up a little bigger fish. Some large bass also can be caught on top. I caught a nice 3 lb bass on top Thursday Morning.
The best time seems to be early morning between 5-9 o clock, I fish from the bank if a person was in a boat they would do even better.
Check my store on Bonanzle for all kinds of crankbaits Heddon,Rapala,Bandit,Bomber and many more

Bass hiting topwaters
Bass are following the school of shad. Catching them can be easy at times especially in areas with some moderate boat traffic. Have your topwater ready to cast, when a boat plows through these school of shad it makes them disoriented and the bass are will attack the injured shad. Throw your topwater out where you see the bass hitting the top of the water. My favorite lures for this is the Heddon Torpedo and the Heddon Zara Spook Jr. So head to the lake or river and make sure you have at least one topwater lure ready to cast.
Keep a Tight line and good luck
