Curing the Winters Blues Get your Tackle Ready for the Next Fishing Season

About this time of the Winter every year anglers are feeling the Winters Blues. Football is about over and the cold weather is getting on our last nerve. There are things to do that will help survive the winter blues. One thing is take a vacation to Florida or maybe Texas  which can have some great bass fishing in January and February. This can be a little expensive and is only  a short term cure. Another way to beat  the blues is checkout  the local boat and fishing shows but these normally only happen on the weekend.  One thing all anglers should be doing during these downtime months is getting the tackle, reels, and boats ready for the next season.
Take your reels apart and get any broken springs or screws replaced. Change your line. Grease and oil all parts according to the manufacturers specs.
Take time also to replace hooks, split rings ,and nose rings on your crankbaits. Change the worn out skirts  on your buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and flipping jigs. Also sharpen these lures hooks.
Take time to research your fishing holes, drive to the lake or river  and look around and take pictures and notes. Alot of the lakes and rivers are drawn down to winter pool exposing structure that you can't see in the spring.  When the weather is really nasty,go online and shop for some lures to replace what you may have lost last fishing season. Bonanza an online sale site can be a great place to find quality lures at low prices
